		<description>if you look very carefully at most computer parts like RAM as you said you will note all the minute connections. If for instance, only one chip of the RAM module was bad you would have to unsolder it and if you could get a single replacement chip, solder the new one in, VERY carefully! The equipment to do this is very expensive to say nothing of the time involved! so if you payed a Tech. $25.00 an hour for 4 hours to replace one chip on your RAM...well...you can see its much cheaper just to replace the whole stick of RAM! 
Years ago computers were built as one unit all the parts were built into the mother board. Then it was found that by using &quot;plug in&#039;s&quot; you could upgrade are replace bad parts quickly and easily. Now a day that is how and why all computers are built with &quot;Plug-in&quot; parts!</description>
